Meet The Doctors

At Copeland Creek Dental, you’re never handed a treatment plan before you’ve been heard. Dr. Jerrod Crawford and Dr. Jake Kirby take the time to understand where you’ve been and what you’re hoping for, then lay out your options in plain language and build the plan with you. Between them they bring decades of experience in preventive, restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry — and a shared belief that a healthy smile is part of a healthy life, not separate from it.

Jerrod Crawford, DDS

Dr. Jerrod Crawford grew up in Amarillo knowing he wanted work that kept his hands busy and put him around people. He studied biology at Abilene Christian University, but his path to dentistry wasn’t a straight one.

Jerrod met his wife, Dr. Ana Crawford, while she was in dental school. They married and began building their life together, living in Dallas, Seattle, and Salado while Ana served in the United States Army. Along the way, they welcomed their two sons, Kole and Jack. Ten years after graduating from ACU, Jerrod decided to return to school himself, attending the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry. There, he found the rare career that brought together the things that had always suited him—craftsmanship, problem-solving, and relationships that can last decades.

After dental school, Jerrod followed Ana’s example of service and joined the United States Navy, with assignments that included Parris Island, San Diego, Seattle, and the USS Nimitz. His military experience continues to shape the way he thinks about leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and caring for others.

Eventually, Jerrod and Ana made Tyler home. Jerrod joined Copeland Creek Dental in 2013, and Ana practiced alongside him here until her death in 2024. Her faith and her love for people remain woven into the practice and into the way he cares for the person in his chair.

Jake Kirby, DDS

Dr. Jake Kirby has always felt called to work that serves others. Dentistry gave him the opportunity to care for people over a lifetime, become part of a community, and do work that asks something of both his hands and his heart. His dental life verse is Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

After graduating from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry, Dr. Kirby and his wife, Dr. Jamie Kirby, a family medicine physician, moved to Tyler in 2012. Since then, they have been grateful to put down roots and become part of the East Texas community.

Dr. Kirby believes oral health and overall health are more connected than many people realize. His care spans preventive dentistry, restoring damaged or missing teeth, improving function and bite, dental sleep medicine, and creating natural-looking smiles. But to him, great dentistry is about more than fixing teeth. It begins with listening—understanding where someone has been, what matters to them, and where they hope to go next. That philosophy is reflected in the heart of Copeland Creek Dental: Your Smile. Your Story.

Dr. Kirby remains committed to continuing education through the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, East Texas Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Jake and Jamie have four children—Beau, Luke, Ben, and Cora—who attend Brook Hill School. Their family worships at Grace Community Church and loves being part of and serving the Tyler community. Much of their free time is spent outside running, hiking, visiting the mountains, or enjoying sports together. With four active kids, however, “free time” usually means cheering from the sidelines, keeping up with everyone’s activities, and figuring out who needs to be where next.
